Who hasn't dreamt of driving around in TV's most famous Firebird?

If you grew up in the '80s and you're reading this, then Knight Rider was almost certainly one of the shows you used to watch. As a kid, you probably always wondered what it would be like to have KITT drive you around, and thanks to Turo, you can appeal to your inner child by renting this replica of Knight Industries Two Thousand – K.I.T.T for easy reference or KITT if you prefer.

Yes, you read that correctly. You can actually rent a replica of KITT on Turo if you live in the L.A. area, and not only does this video show what it's like to drive such a car, it also takes it a step further by visiting some of the filming locations from one of the old episodes overlaying the original footage with a look at the scene today. Some of the best footage, though, is the excitement that the seeing this car exudes from others, and that is due to the car's unmistakable looks.

'

As the video points out, this isn't the most accurate KITT replica, but it's about as good as you could expect from a vehicle that you're able to drive around in everyday conditions. Instead of KITT's 1982 Firebird body, this car is based on an '89 model, although it still has the same all-black body and, of course, a functional version of KITT's signature red scanning light!

Inside, KITT's futuristic and computerized dash have all the buttons, lights and even sounds that you'll remember from the TV show, and while it has KITT's awkwardly shaped steering yolk, this car also allows for a quick swap to a conventional steering wheel. The custom steering wheel was even signed by William Daniels, who provided the voice of KITT.

And just to refresh your memory, here's the original Knight Rider intro for you to enjoy!
