The event is slated to take place at the end of September.

Saratoga Auto Auction will be holding its next auction from Friday September 20th through Saturday September 21st. There will be an auction preview on that Thursday. One of the vehicles listed to cross the auction block is this stunning 1929 Essex Super Six. Assigned to lot #328, this blue sedan is a first-rate modern hot rod with vintage styling and some appreciated mods. If you are interested in this car, be sure to register to bid here.

The body on this Essex is aesthetically stock in appearance, but it has actually been modified extensively from the all-steel roof to the hand-fabricated steel hood and sculpted grille shell. The chassis is all box tubing with Corvette suspension in both the front and rear. What really sets this Super Six apart from the rest is its powertrain. The heart and soul of this hotrod is a torque monster turbo intercooled 3.9-liter 4BT Cummins diesel engine paired with a GM turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission. The fuel is sent through a fully T.I.G.-welded stainless steel exhaust system that emits a tantalizing note.

With such sound, it was necessary to install sound deadening in every nook and cranny. After that process was complete, the interior was wrapped in a buttery soft grey leather with blue accent panels. There is also just the right touch of real wood at the door panels, headliner, and the one-off handmade steering wheel. All of the chrome has been re-plated to perfection and shines like a dream. The window glass is all safety or tempered, and the side glass has a slight tint. The gauge cluster is the original one, but has been updated with all modern instrumentation needed to successfully track your drive. The cabin also features four full-size reclining seats that are covered in the same leather for an incredibly comfortable ride for everyone involved. The power sunroof and tilted-out windshield add to the hotrod experience and provide more comfort.

Every effort was made to source high-quality, U.S.-made parts, including the 24-karat gold-plated Dayton wire wheels and the vintage Ford steering column. The entire build was documented in photographs and paperwork. This Essex Super Six has won many awards and always draws a crowd. What’s more, the car was just at the Syracuse Nationals and was pinstriped by ZEEK and some friends for charity at "Arty's Party.” It even comes with a shirt signed by several of the artists.
