2020 Jack Roush Edition Mustang Is An Instant Collector Car

To celebrate Jack Roush’s induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Roush Performance introduced the 2020 Jack Roush Edition Mustang this week at SEMA. Only 60 of these high-powered Mustangs are being built for the U.S. market (and just 10 more for international markets), which ensures this Roush will be an instant collector car.

What makes the 2020 Jack Roush Edition Mustang is that it uses a Roush phase 3 supercharger to squeeze 775 horsepower and 670 lb-ft of torque from the Ford Mustang GT's 5.0-liter Coyote V8 making it the most powerful Roush Mustang ever built. That's more horsepower and torque than the 2020 Shelby GT500, and true driving enthusiasts will appreciate the fact that the Roush can be had with a manual transmission – not so with the new GT500.

Roush tuned every aspect of the new Jack Roush Edition Mustang from the aero and engine cooling to the brakes and computer-controlled MagneRide suspension. Like today's advanced high-performance sports car, this Roush features an active aerodynamic carbon fiber rear wing to adjust downforce based on the car's speed.

The Jack Roush Edition package will be available at dealerships in the spring, and it will cost about $50,000 over the price of a donor Ford Mustang GT with optional MagneRide suspension. There is also an optional Competition Pack that adds lightweight forged wheels and Continental ExtremeContact racing slick tires to allow this tuned Mustang to hit 1.14g on the skid pad. All in, you're looking at an MSRP of somewhere $110,000. While that is significantly more than the $73,995 starting price tag of the new Shelby GT500, this Roush offers improved performance, exclusivity and collectibility in the long run.
