Designed by McNear, this close-coupled coupe is absolutely beautiful to behold from any angle. Dark green paint combines with black fenders, pale yellow painted wire wheels, a leather top, and correct details for an impeccable exterior presentation.

Just as impressive is the interior, considering Duesenbergs were lauded for their rich, luxurious appointments. The exposed wood framework is complemented by dark green leather which also creates strong ties with the vehicle body. Sumptuous and correct details abound, including all gauges and a wood steering wheel, demonstrating a strong level of craftsmanship.

This particular car, chassis D63C, has an exceptional provenance which extends all the way to 1942. It went through a comprehensive restoration from 1971 to 1976, afterwards taking part in some demanding tour events, including climbing Pikes Peak, which demonstrated the high quality of the restoration work, particularly the mechanical systems.

It can’t be emphasized enough just how rare this Duesenberg Model A truly is. The ACD Club knows of a mere 21 in existence, making them highly desirable and a highlight of any vehicle collection. No other Model A features the same coachwork as this one, adding further to its unique qualities. If you’re interested in acquiring this classic American car, register to bid now.

Gooding & Company hosts exceptional vehicle auctions throughout the year, the details of which you can see here. Also, you can look through the various vehicles heading to the block through this auction house.
